Book A Stay in Our Well-Appointed Rooms and Suites
The Handlery Union Square Hotel blends the timelessness and charm of early 20th century San Francisco with modern character and comfort to create a setting that few hotels can equal. Each of our 377 rooms and suites provides a warm, inviting oasis for business travelers, leisure guests, families and couples.
Showcasing the building’s original Victorian architecture while offering the full range of amenities today’s travelers seek, our Historic Section rooms vary in size and shape, but many are among the more spacious to be found in downtown San Francisco. Equipped with two doubles, one King, one Queen or one double bed, these accommodations feature high ceilings and some offer bay windows.
Premier Section rooms are appointed with one King bed or two Queen beds and feature perks and upgrades like a complimentary weekday newspaper, bathrobes, extra bathroom amenities and two complimentary bottles of water. These rooms offer views of the San Francisco skyline or the hotel pool, and many are equipped with private balconies.
In addition to guest rooms offered in the Historic Section and Premier Section, our San Francisco Suite and Rooftop Garden Suite are ideal for special stays, groups or small intimate events.
In-room comforts in all accommodations include free Wi-Fi, coffeemaker, mini fridge, pillowtop beds, and flat-screen televisions with cable channels. We're happy to advise you that we offer pet-friendly rooms and suites.

One-Bedroom Suite
Our take on a Junior Suite, the One-Bedroom Suite features a beautifully appointed living room with sofa bed that is separated from the bedroom by an open archway. This suite features one King sized bed with pillowtop mattress and is beautifully appointed with custom furniture
San Francisco Suite
Our most spacious suite is ideal for special occasions. The beautifully furnished living room with ample seating includes a sleeper sofa and dining room set. The private bedroom features a pillowtop King bed. This one-of-a-kind suite also has a well-appointed kitchenette with wet bar and bar stools.
Rooftop Garden Suite
Your own private hideaway features a large private patio and is a cozy respite in the heart of the city. This elegantly furnished suite offers a living room area with wet bar and bar stools and Queen pillowtop bed.
Accessible Rooms
Accessible rooms are located in the Historic Section and Premier Section. In addition, our Alert Plus Kit is available upon request to all guests needing accessible rooms. This kit includes a loud audio fire buzzer and strobe light, vibrating bed alarm clock, a telephone with amplified headset, and a door knock light.
Family Suite
Our Family Suites are available in two configurations and consist of two bedrooms with one shared bathroom. As there are a limited number of Family Suites available, please contact our in-house Reservations Department to book yours today. Maximum occupancy 5 people.
