We have updated the entire document to clarify and reflect our latest stance on safeguarding user privacy. Introduction

Handlery Hotels hold itself to high standards in handling and processing personal information. The policy outlined below establishes the boundaries of what Handlery Hotels process and what you, as our customer and the data subject ("users"), are entitled to. This Privacy Policy applies when you use our features and services ("services"). Additionally, we have a Cookie Policy for use of our website.

Handlery Hotels operates in the United States has adopted English as the controlling language of this Privacy Policy.

 

Your Personal Data

Personal data refers to identifying information that relates to an individual. Identification can be by the data alone or in conjunction with any other data in the data controller's possession or likely to come into such possession. Handlery Hotels collects information only to provide you with services that you opted into. In order to provide you with our products or services, including responding to your inquiries, we may ask for your personal information. If you choose not to provide the requested information, we may be unable to deliver the desired services. Most of Handlery Hotels' services are provided under a Handlery Hotels Account, and if you no longer require the service or wish to have your data removed, you may request to delete your Handlery Hotels Account.

Examples of data we collect and store include:

  • Your e-mail address, which is used as identification for our services and as the primary communication method.
  • Your name, address, phone number, and additional contact information are used to provide registration and billing verification services.
  • Your payment method (credit card, bank account number, etc.), which is used for payment transactions for a service or product.
  • Your IP address and unique device identifiers are used for fraud prevention and security purposes.

Other information that you provide to us through digital or physical means may be stored on a case-by-case basis depending on the reason it was provided.

Non-Personal Data

Handlery Hotels may collect additional information that, by itself, cannot be used to identify any specific individual. This information is used to help facilitate our business operations. For example, we collect single-session information from our users when they browse our website to understand which services are more important and if the content is relevant to our users or potential customers.

 

Cookies

When someone visits Handley.com, we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. We collect this information in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting www.handlery.com, sf.handlery.com and sd.handlery.com. We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through www.handlery.com, sf.handlery.com and sd.handlery.com, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

Lawful Bases and Other Usage

Handlery Hotels only collects and processes personal data for which you give consent when it is necessary for the performance of a contract with you to provide a specific service, or in certain "legitimate interests" cases, that do not outweigh your rights and freedoms.

Situations necessitating such actions may include to protect you, us, or others from security threats, to comply with laws we are subjected to, to comply with Federal or State data retention regulations, and to perform auditing.

Handlery Hotels may share your information with third parties only with your consent or for performance of contract. Handlery Hotels does not share your personal information with third parties for the purpose of direct marketing.

 

Data Controllers, Contracting Parties, Transfer of Data

We use the term "Designated Countries" to refer to countries that are in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland.

In order to complete Handlery Hotels’ services to our customers, the nature of these services require us to be able to transfer data into and out of the European Union (EU) to Handlery Hotels’ third party managed reservations systems and other entities deemed necessary to carry out these services. Handlery Hotels safeguard EU personal data when transferred out by adopting European Commission-approved Standard Contractual Clauses as a legal mechanism for data transfers to locations the European Commission have not deemed to have an adequate level of data protection.

 

Your Rights to your Personal Data

Handlery Hotels' services are generally provided on an opt-in basis, with required and collected information differing on a per service basis. Unless subject to an exemption, you will have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
 

  • The right to delete data: You can ask us to delete data for which we no longer need in order to provide service to you.
  • The right to correct or change data: You can modify your contact information through your Handlery Hotels Account. You can also ask us to change, update, or fix data that are incorrectly presented and unable to be changed by yourself.
  • The right to object or restrict use of data: You can ask us to stop or limit the usage of some or all of your personal data that we no longer need, in order to provide service to you, or have legal rights to retain.
  • Right to access: You may request a copy of your personal data that we have at the time.


You may make these requests by submitting a request to options@handlery.com.  Upon receipt, we will evaluate your request and inform you how we intend to proceed. Under certain circumstances, and according to applicable European Union or European Union state laws and regulations, we may withhold access to your data, or decline to modify, erase, port, or restrict the processing of your data. Handlery Hotels will respond to your request within thirty days after receiving it.

If you are a resident of one of the Designated Countries, you have the right to file a complaint with your country’s Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

 

Services

This Privacy Policy applies to Handlery Hotels’ services offered on www.handlery.com, sf.handlery.com and sd.handlery.com and at our physical locations.  By creating an account, you gain access to creating and modifying your hotel reservation at any time.  Handlery Hotels does not use this information for any other purpose.  Handlery Hotels does not share this information unless otherwise specified for the particular service.

 

Handlery Hotels Account

By creating an account, you can gain access to manage products and services such as hotel reservation.  You may delete your Handlery Hotels Account at any time by submitting a request to options@handlery.com. However, we may be unable to provide you certain services afterwards.  Account deletions, including all the associated data with the specified account, are irreversible. Handlery Hotels may retain certain data in order to fulfil our legal obligations.

 

Payment

Data we collect

To make a purchase, Handlery Hotels will collect information you provide, including your name, billing address, phone number, email address, IP address, client user-agent, VAT, and payment method to process the transaction. When booking at www.handlery.com, sf.handlery.com and sd.handlery.com, Handlery Hotels does not directly handle your payment method, such as your credit card number and CVC.  When in person or by phone, Handlery Hotels will handle transactions via our front desk or reservations department staff.


How we use your data

Handlery Hotels uses third party processors to securely handle your payment method and to calculate and report taxes.  Handlery Hotels only uses information we collect from the payment process to complete transactions, generate receipts, report taxes, and for financial and legal auditing purposes. We do not share or use this information for any other purpose.


How we store your data

Your purchase history, even if refunded or canceled, will be stored for a minimum of seven years per legal requirements imposed on Handlery Hotels. Handlery Hotels will retain this history, including your billing information, for an indefinite period if there is a balance, credit or outstanding payment on the account.  Our payment processors and tax reporting providers may additionally be subjected to other legal obligations.

Handlery Hotels generates a receipt that is made available to you either online, by email, written or phone request.

Handlery Hotels will remove your transaction history after the minimum storage period based on our legal obligations.  Given minimum storage and legal obligations have been met, permanent deletion of account information may be requested by email to options@handlery.com
 

Security

Handlery Hotels via third party services, logs and stores IP addresses of both users to our web services solely for security purposes. This log is archived and then removed at irregular intervals depending on ongoing or existing security threats or investigations. If Handlery Hotels has overwhelming evidence that certain IP addresses, users, or devices may be purposely damaging or hindering our operations or service quality, we may deny further services and/or report such behavior to relevant authorities.

 

Changes to Policy

Handlery Hotels may make amendments to this document when needed to reflect policy updates, customer feedback, as well as new products or services. We will provide a brief overview of the changes, and if the terms modify the way we process or handle your data or affect your rights, we will notify you by posting notices at www.handlery.com, sf.handlery.com and sd.handlery.com. We encourage that you regularly review this Privacy Policy to understand how your data is handled.

 

Data from Children

Transactions for Handlery Hotels' products and services for children are provided in accordance with local laws and regulations.  The innkeeper may require a parent or guardian to provide data of their children when necessary to provide our products and services and in accordance with local laws and regulations. 

 

Sensitive Data

Unless specifically requested, we ask that you not send us any sensitive personal data, such as social security number, national identification number, data related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion, ideological or other beliefs, health, biometrics or genetic characteristics or the like.

 

Do Not Track

Handlery Hotels does not track users to provide targeted advertising and therefore will not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.

 

Do Not Sell

Handlery Hotels does not sell any personal information to 3rd parties as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

 

Notice to End Users

Certain Handlery Hotels’ products or services may be managed by third party vendors. Your use of these products or services will be affected by the terms or policies that are provided and dictated by the third party vendors.

In the case of links to other websites, Handlery Hotels shall not have any responsibility for use of other web sites links, or any information contained thereon, none of which has been verified or endorsed by Handlery Hotels. Please direct inquiries in these instances to the administrator of the product or service.
