Read What Our Guests Are Saying

“To have every guest not question why they stayed here, but to question why they didn’t stay here before”

Handlery Hotels philosophy above, as laid forth by founder Harry Handlery in 1928, rings as true today as it did when we welcomed our very first guests nearly 90 years ago. To this day we remain committed to providing guests with an extraordinary level of service that is at once accommodating and professional yet gracious, warm and genuine.

If you are considering a stay at the Handlery Union Square Hotel, we invite you to read our reviews below to learn what past guests have to say about their experience at our independent family owned hotel in San Francisco.

“Must Stay Here”
From start to finish this hotel delivered. When we arrived & checked in the hotel president come out to meet us. He wanted to welcome us as it was 50th birthday. This was a lovely touch & made our stay extra special.
We were in the historic part of the hotel. When we reached our room we were met by a bottle fizz, bag full of goodies & a lovely note.
The room was a good size with 2 large & very comfortable beds. Everything that you needed for a great stay.
This hotel is also located just down from the main pick up for all tour bus. So it’s a fantastic location for sightseeing.
We stayed in 5 different hotels while we were in the US and this was the best. I would love to return to San Francisco one day and if I do I will be staying here again.

“Fantastic Location in San Francisco”
The Handlery hotel is in a fantastic location in San Francisco at Union Square, it is also within walking distance to Powell St station. Sightseeing bus tour stops are 100 metres away just opposite Macy’s for anyone wishing to tour the City sights. The staff are excellent, rooms are cleaned daily and kept spotless. We only ate once in The Daily Grill for dinner and the food was really good. Would definitely stay again.
